Is Sugar Addictive

Getting sugar addiction help is a little easier now that low carb diets are so popular but still a difficult undertaking on the best of days. Some companies use Chinese herbs or Amazonian superfoods to boost the health properties of their chocolate; some make a "raw" (or unheated) product to avoid losing too much of the chocolate's antioxidant activity in processing; and still others refuse to add sugar to their chocolate.
It has nothing to do with your willpower, or your desire to change - your body has adapted to depend on sugar and, just like a cocaine addict experiences tremendous withdrawal symptoms if she were to cut out cocaine, removing sugar from your diet can feel impossible.

So, it is not surprising that high prevalence of FA occurs in the underweight category ( 248 , 260 ) and normal weight category in the case of BN ( 261 ). Recently investigators have suggested that FA data can be incorporated into the case conceptualization of EDs from a trans-diagnostic perspective ( 262 , 263 ). Conclusions suggest giving more consideration to the impact of highly palatable foods for some people seeking ED treatment.
This is very true and I am pretty sure that I have a sweet tooth myself now that I have read very hard for me to go through the day without consuming something sweet the human brain or sugary even if in a little quantity.I always thought that I was the only one with this the thanks for sharing this valuable information with us Alejandra.

For instance, rats maintained on an intermittent sugar schedule display cross-sensitization to amphetamine ( 210 ) and rats sensitized to amphetamine increase their locomotion when exposed to 10% sucrose solution ( 211 ). Furthermore, sucrose intake has been shown to enhance behavioral sensitization induced by cocaine and ethanol ( 212 , 213 ). Thus, intermittent sugar promotes behaviors observed with drugs of abuse.
Here's something amazing: even thinking about a sweet food we love can trigger a chemical response in our brains to eat it. Essentially, the chemical response and memory trace which eating sugar creates inside our brains urges us to go back for more.

It is difficult to predict how emerging data on FA can impact policy, particularly given that corporations have fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders which require them to maximize profits and may compromise other social and ecological goals ( 274 ). Some public health experts propose that we will need to address food corporations similarly to how the tobacco industry was addressed in recent years, with interdiction and litigation ( 275 ). It remains unclear how an understanding of FA will translate to behavior change, however, a recent survey suggests that framing certain foods as addictive may increase obesity-related policy support such as warning labels, similar to tobacco ( 276 ). Other researchers believe that sugar addiction is too narrow and therefore still premature, warning against policy changes that are unlikely to have an impact since sugar is already so ubiquitous in the food supply ( 253 ).
